Pesto and goat cheese mille-feuille

Today’s recipe is our participation at “La bataille food” a friendly competition amongst food bloggers in France. This month’s theme is “Mille-feuille” so we decided to make a savoury version of it in a slightly different fashion. These goat cheese and red basil pesto mille-feuille is perfect for a starter dish but it will also work for a very small dinner for a very small appetit.


  • 2 sheets filo pasty
  • About 20 basil leaves
  • A handful of almond
  • 3 Tsp of olive oil
  • 1 small piece of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 Tsp of Pink Berries
  • 150g fresh goat cheese
  • 1 Tsp of fresh chiseled herbs



Lay a medium-sized glass on a filo pastry sheet, and go around with a knife to cut circles. Make about 7 circles per portion.


Place your circles in a preheated oven for a few minutes, once the leaf is golden brown, stop the fire.


Mix the basil leaves with almonds, then add olive oil and parmesan until the desired consistency is obtained.


Mix the fresh goat cheese with pink peppercorns and some chopped fresh herbs.


Then put tohether your mille-feuille alternating goat cheese and pesto.


For the vinaigrette, mix the chopped strawberries, cider vinegar, olive oil and scallion.


Pour the vinaigrette over the mille-feuilles.
